Here’s a picture of the surface of Mars. It’s pink because the soil is mostly iron oxide, but notice the fractal growths in the midst of the pink mounds. They look like spooky trees, or hair. I suspect they are another form of iron oxide, magnetic.

Magnets  are spooky too.
